Befana is the name of this old lady, who ride a broom during the night and bring candy to the good children, and coal (sweet coal, but nonetheless...) to the bad ones. But she is not a witch! It's the last day of holidays: from the 6th, the first next holidays will be for Easter, in 3 months, without any stop. That's why we say : Befana takes away all the holidays.
Befana è il nome di una vecchia signora che guida una scopa durante la notte, e porta caramelle ai bambini buoni e carbone (dolce, ma sempre carbone) a quelli cattivi. Ma non è una strega! E' anche l'ultimo giorno di vacanze: dal 6, le prime vacanze che ci sono sono quelle di Pasqua, tra 3 mesi, senza interruzioni. Ecco perchè diciamo che la Befana si porta via tutte le feste!
